Educators throughout the country create high quality presentations, handouts and activities. Many times though, this information is not shared in a manner that is useful to other Educators. Packaging this information into curriculum can be a plus for these Educators and for the Extension system.

The purpose for packaging everyday work into curriculum is to help us share our knowledge in a manner that allows for elimination of duplication of effort. This can ultimately lead to a higher level of scholarship. If all Educators are not spending time recreating a similar basic lesson on something like Quality Assurance, then time is spent on a novel or other critical issue or topic. There are times when an individual’s study or research can be replicated and the combined knowledge or results can either be generalized or total knowledge about a topic can be increased. Packaging curriculum is an opportunity to refine methodologies and to improve our scientific approach to our work.

This presentation will help participants understand the value of creating and sharing with other Extension Professionals through developing information and basic presentations into curriculum. Examples from everyday Extension work will be given to show the steps necessary to get from presentation to curriculum.
