This article was published in the March 10, 2020, issue of Hoard’s Dairyman. Hoard’s Dairyman has 52,000 subscribers and readers in more than 50 countries. The basis for this article was an Extension survey on dairy farm’s selection and use of beef sires, and the resulting fact sheet. The intention of this article was to have dairy producers consider the yield and quality the end product of beef x dairy cross calves, and their role in improving their quality to maintain premium prices.
