Personal Column

Community engagement is the overall goal for the weekly newspaper column.  By doing this column, it gives the opportunity to communicate many things including: provide needed educational information; leave an extension education footprint in the community; and, reach community members that otherwise will not have access to this information.  

The "Know Your Farmer" series has created great interest.  The farm families appreciate being recognized and it helps the community to truly understand how unique our county is with the diversity in agricultural operations and crops we are fortunate to have.  The objective of the articles is to provide information regarding hot topics in gardening, landscape, farming, and safety; promote educational extension programs; and, discuss current events in our state and region as it applies to agriculture and natural resources.
