The Indian River County Extension News is a multi-disciplinary quarterly newsletter developed and published by the UF IFAS Indian River County Extension faculty. It has been published since 2017 and operates to inform readers about pertinent issues within the community and extension activities throughout the county. Sections of each newsletter are separated by major technical programming with each agent contributing articles and timely information about their area of expertise. It has an extensive readership ranging from homeowners, Master Gardeners, growers, producers, small farm enthusiasts, pesticide applicators, 4-H families and leaders and local policy makers. This newsletter is managed and edited by county director and agriculture agent, Christine Kelly-Begazo with contributions from Darren Cole (4-H & Youth Development), Nickie Munroe (Urban Horticulture Agent) and senior staff assistant, Violet Krochmalny. It is a web-based publication, accessible via the extension office website and the 4-H Facebook page and is placed as a tag line on all email correspondence. It is also emailed to approximately 750 readers on various distribution lists. Hard copies (approximately 300) are printed and distributed at meetings, workshops and seminars, and are placed in prominent areas throughout the county.
