Farmers First Aid

            The flyer was designed by the agent to promote the Farmers First Aid Program on the twenty sixth of October. The purpose of this program was to educate producers on the importance of their initial response to getting injured on the farm. This program taught farmers the quick, easy, and reliable steps they should be taking to make sure their injuries stay infection free. Anthony Roberts, Carter County Emergency Medical Services Deputy Director, worked with the agent to build a curriculum for farmers. The program was promoted via flyer and post card to the Carter County Cattlemen’s Association, Carter County Farm Bureau Board, distributed to eight local businesses and shared on social media and WBEJ Radio. The direct contacts totaled two hundred thirty, while the indirect reached fifty thousand three hundred twenty.  The curriculum has been submitted for accreditation approval. Farmers were taught first aid skills as well as cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
